According to the recent situation here in Thailand. It was one of the saddest days in my life that I was allowed to be a part of this crucial occasion, the biggest loss of the greatest, hard-working, and most caring King in the world. We, all Thai people, have grievously returned His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej back to heaven where the angel like him properly belonged.

 

 

October 13, 2016, during the evening news, the television suddenly turned grey and we all knew the news we didn’t want to hear was about to be true. King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away earlier today at 15:52. He had been in the treatment since October 3, 2014 and with all the effort of the doctors, His soul had peacefully gone to heaven.

October 14, 2016, the first day that I’ve to dress in all black. Even it was still early in the morning, the area around the Grand Palace seemed crowded than usual. Today was the day that the body of His Majesty the King would be transferred into Phra Thinang Dusit Maha Prasat, where there would be the religious ceremony later on.

 

 

In Buddhism, when someone passed away, his or her family would take the body to a temple. Then there will be the religious ceremony to respect and remember the dead person. The first process and one of the most important one is to perform the funeral bathing ceremony. In this case, people came from all over the country to participate within this ceremony.

 

 

Thousands of people gathered just to be as closest as possible to the Grand Palace, to witness this most precious moment when the body of His Majesty the King would be transferred inside. The more time went by, the more crowd outside increased.

I found myself one of the luckiest persons, that I was blessed to have a chance to work here. Every day when I stepped inside, I found the buildings, sculptures, and people around a regular scenario, but for today, everything was totally different. There was no other colour but black and white, no laughing but whimper. But for the first time I’ve seen uncountable number of people gathered in the same place with the same heart, a heart for our Father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

 

 

When it was about time, the Grand Palace was locked up, people outside couldn’t get in and people inside couldn’t get out. I was inside.

Though it should be noisy but I heard nothing, at the moment I didn’t know what to feel. Everything seemed still, like we don’t want to believe that this is real, that he had really gone.

 

 

I wrote this post just for myself to remember everything that had happened today. The day I won’t forget, the day that I was closest to His Majesty the King. Though in my entire life, I’ve never met His Majesty in person, but all the good things He had done to our country. No King else like our Father. He is King of the Kings. The one that won’t ever be forgotten from Thais’ hearts.

 

“I may not have come from the greatest country, but I am very proud to say I have lived in the country with the greatest King.”

 

When His Majesty condition is decreasing worse, then finally he had gone. Someone said there is no miracle, the heaven brought back our angel from earth. But then another person said, we have the miracle for 70 years.

70 years that His Majesty had been working for us, without any day off. All He wished was for us to live a better life. I’m sure now he happily joined his family up there, who had waited him for so long. I’m sure they are all smiling. From now on, we will continue do what you taught us to do and be good children of you forever.
